From 1839-1874 the United States waist belt plate varied little in construction and appearance. The belt plate (buckle) was standard issue of the United States Government to its soldiers during the Civil War. This piece of decorative stomach armor saved many lives.
Dimensions of buckle are 3 1/4 x 2 inches. Can be fitted up to a 1 1/2 inch belt blank.
