Civil War Union Army Flag - 33 Stars. This flag became the Official United States Flag on July 4th, 1859 with the 33rd star added for the admission of Oregon on February 14, 1859. This was the official flag for 2 years. Two Presidents served under this flag - James Buchanan (1857-1861) and Abraham Lincoln (1861-1865).
