A Compilation of Over One Hundred Recipes Adapted to the Times
Reproduction of a rare book published during the Civil War containing make-due recipes for various victuals, personal and household items. Only five copies of this receipt book are known to have survived (receipt is another word for recipe used in the 19th and 18th centuries.) During the Civil War, Southerners were forced to find substitutes for the food, clothing, and other everyday household items they were used to.
Note: Recipes contained in this booklet contain some ingredients not considered edible by today's standards. This booklet is for your reading enjoyment only!
