Gadsden Flag Shirt - Don't Tread on Me
Named after Colonel Christopher Gadsden of South Carolina, the flag was originally flown by Commodore Esek Hopkins of Rhode Island, first Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Navy in 1776, as a stern warning to the British from the Colonists.
Printed on a gold 100% pre-shrunk cotton Hanes Beefy-T shirt with durable double-stitch trim so its soft and comfortable yet strong. Shows the Don't Treat on Me inscription. Shirts are not full cut - they do not run large.
Benjamin Franklin originally helped create the rattlesnake symbol as a political cartoon in 1751. The snake image continued to be reprinted throughout the colonies and eventually grew to represent national unity in defiance of British law.
